If Granular Restore Technology (GRT) backups are performed on an Exchange 2007 server that does not have Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) and Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) installed, the backups will fail with the above error.

Note:
1. The database will be reported as skipped in Job log.
2. Databases are restorable from the database level but not at the GRT level.

Solution:

Install the Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects package on the Exchange 2007 server. This may already be installed but if the above error is still seen make sure you have the latest available MAPI CDO package installed.
