Pocket PC users can scan both data storage locations and memory extension cards for viruses on demand. Antivirus databases are updated automatically, meaning that virus protection remains current.

For handhelds running Palm OS the program monitors data streams which can act as infection vectors: the antivirus monitor protects data transferred via HotSync and Beam. On-demand virus scanning is available for data storage locations, RAM and memory extension cards.

Data security

The Kaspersky Datasafe module protects confidential data from unsanctioned users. Pocket PC users can create password-protected files. Data in these files is encrypted, securing information against unsanctioned users. The Datasafe module for PDAs running Palm OS provides password protection and encryption options, and locking down of the device according to user specification.
